The Biennial of the Americas creates connections, builds community and inspires change across the Americas. We are building a deep network of leaders from across the Americas to foster shared insights, innovations, and creativity.

Launched in 2010 by civic leaders in Denver, Colorado, we were formed around the transformational idea that the north-south axis is a valuable source of ideas and art. Our vision is to be a hub of connectivity between Colorado and the Western Hemisphere to support increased awareness and exchange. We are empowered by the uniqueness of our home and leverage Colorado’s collaborative and innovative environment to seek solutions to the complex problems facing our world. Colorado’s open and entrepreneurial spirit imbues the hands-on work we do at the Biennial and yields innovative ideas, investments and action.

We believe that as we embrace both our diversity and our commonality by building on our shared experience and deep understanding of and appreciation for each other’s cultures, we can build a productive and innovative economic and cultural exchange.

OUR PROGRAMS

Our five program areas serve as catalysts for visionary leaders in art, policy and business to foster innovation and collaboration in the Americas through provocative conversations and  artistic expression. Year-round programming serves as a platform to break down the conceptual boundaries between art, policy and business by bringing together leading personalities from each sector to engage complex issues in candid dialogue. Our events, symposiums and summits provide opportunities for industry leaders, artists, thinkers and invited participants to build partnerships, develop projects that stimulate economic growth and seek comprehensive approaches to shared challenges and opportunities.

Americas Summits

Each year, the Biennial hosts international trips with Colorado’s top business and cultural leaders. Each Summit is a unique, curated experience offering delegates a chance to meet with top leaders, major multinational corporations, start-up businesses, artists and entrepreneurs.

Americas Exchange

The Biennial supports the exchange of art and ideas. Through panels, events and exhibitions that elevate rising leaders and support our partners by bringing international and innovative speakers and artists to Denver. This program works to advance the connection between Colorado and the Americas and increase exposure to diverse cultures and experiences.

Culture Club

The Biennial Culture Club is a group of innovative and creative individuals who are passionate about cultural exchange with the Americas and eager to be part of a community that is, too. Being part of that community means having first dibs on really cool and exciting events, like our bi-annual international Culture Club Summits.

Sustainable Americas

In 2017, we launched the Youth Congress for Sustainable Americas to connect young sustainability leaders from across the Americas to further sustainable initiatives. Today, it is a robust network of young environmental leaders from 15 different countries. The delegates meet annually for leadership development, collaboration opportunities and to highlight their sustainability projects at the individual community level. In October of 2020, we launched a fund to directly support the members of our Youth Congress with funding for community-based sustainability projects.

Americas LEaders Series

We present a variety of learning opportunities including workshops and expert panel discussions featuring some of the Hemisphere’s most inspiring global leaders. These educational events showcase innovative practices and build connectivity throughout the Americas. Our symposiums and speaker series have featured innovative leaders from across the Americas: Ashley Bell, Reid Hastings, Daphne Koller, John Malone, and Eric Schmidt have been featured, along with prominent artists like Nick Cave and Isaac Slade.
